Quad Bikes

Quad bikes are not permitted inside or near the Kosi Reserve or Coastal Forest Reserve.

Only one rider is needed to spoil it for everyone and that has happened several times over and thus the community is extremely negative towards quad bikes.

Most roads are only the width of one vehicle and travelling at high speed around blind corners have caused a few accidents. There are places available where quad bikes are permitted, but because the attraction is to play with the quads in the dunes or on the beach, stricter measures against quadriders are being implemented. Quads are not allowed off the trailer until you get to the spot where you can play.

Quadbike

The sandy soil vegetation in Maputalands is fragile to say the least. What tourist do not realise, because they are gone in a few days, is that quad bike tracks going once across the fragile open veld can still be seen two years later, because of the sandy soils and where quads have played full scale erosian starts.
